Hi Over the past week I've been learning a new tune on the whistle and its driving me crazy - its the Irish traditional tune 'Kid on the Mountain'. I don't have it on Cd or tape but I do have it in ABC format my ABC player ABC2win plays it, however there is a 'turn' in the tune and the ABC player won't cope with the change. Would anyone have a web address that might have this tune in midi format? Theres a challenge for Alison. Happy easter and don't eat to many easter eggs!

Mike

And another MIDI HERE if you don't like alison's. You will probably have to click on the Tune Archive in the left frame, then click search.

Is this the same tune as 'Kid on a mountain bike'?

No it a horrible slip jig and it is one of those tunes I nearly always screw up even though there is nothing hard about it (except 3 too many beats in a bar).

Thanks you lot - you never fail to give the answers. Hi Alison - Carrick is fine, traditional/folk music has taken a big surge forward in the area. The group I play with has had lots of requests from local pubs and hotels to start a traditional evening. We have had to pass this info out to other players and groups as we can't do them all. When you back if you have time drop into the Coast Road Hotel in Carrick on a Wed evening 9.30pm to 2.00am - its usually a good session with 8 to 15 players mixed ability - free drink to the players.

Thanks again. Mike
