does anyone out there know the circumstances of royston wood's (the young tradition)death?

he was an old friend of mine and don't see anyone i can ask. all i know is it was a traffic accident.

last time i saw him was in yoxford suffolk uk about '75/76 then he and his wife (leslie) split and went to america.

i tried to write to heather wood (also of the young tradition) but the letter came back.

i'd just like to lay this to rest,

easter monday

thanks if you can help

Royston had just moved to Amenia, New York, when he was killed in an automobile accident while commuting to his job with a newspaper (in Westchester County, NY, I believe). He had married again to a very lovely young woman. We see his widow, Natasha, quite frequently at regional folk music events.

You can get in touch with Heather Wood via the New York Folksong Society (she's the current president, I think), or e-mail me at folklegacy@snet.net and I'll give you her e-mail address.

Sandy
