You're kidding--you heard me? I can't hear me. I didn't try to talk in the chat room yet, so i don't think it was me you heard. Every time I try the audio test it tells me to give up and reboot my computer. I switched mikes, maybe I'll try once more.

BTW I also sang "Non Ti Scordar Di Me"...here is the translation (I actually sang it in Italian)

The swallows have left
My cold sunless country
In search of spring violets
And happy love-nests
My little swallow left
Without leaving me a kiss
Without a farewell

Do not forget me
My life is intertwined with yours
I love you more and more
In my dreams you still are mine
Do not forget me
My life is intertwined with yours
There is always a nest for you in my heart
Do not forget me...

Fun to find this actually works.

By propping a pen over the F9 key and putting my office stapler on it to hold it down so I could have my hands free, I sang (if I remember rightly):

Gunfighter's Eyes Song of the Mens' Side Mama Fried What Song Could I Sing to You Old Blevins

Shameless self-promotion follows, but someone did ask

The first, third and fourth above are from our (Woodchucks Revenge's) first CD, Loose in the Hills. I wrote Gunfighter, my wife, Kristina, wrote Mama with a little sanding and polishing by me, and our friend, Dick McCormack (whose songs we usually introduce at gigs by saying that he made his living doing folk music for 25 years or so, then went into politics and is now Majority Leader of the Vermont Senate, thereby proving that even a folksinger can sink even lower) wrote What Song for a former wife who left, and then entirely forgot it. But by then I'd learned it, so it wasn't lost.

The second was by Rudyard Kipling (lyrics) and Peter Bellamy (music); learned from recording by Roberts and Barrand. Making it sound like a Kingston Trio song was my idea. The last is from the Austin Lounge Lizards (who else could it possibly be?)

Peter.

Can you imagine what it'll be like in another few years, when you can get high-resolution audio, maybe from several sources at once, in real time?

These Hearme's are getting better everytime I listen to one. As usual I forgot how late it was. Especially enjoyed alison playing the flute. Everyone was real enjoyable.

Can anyone tell me where I could find the words and chords or sheet music for "What's the Use of Wings".

I should really have written these down at the time..... then I'd have remembered

I did:-

Culloden's harvest
Coisich a ruin
The foggy dew
The folk singers lament
Superbird
several flute, accordion & whistle tunes, and accompaniments

I enjoyed my first Hearme session, even if I didn't have a mike (and I can't figure how could I do that - anyway). I had some trouble with the sound. Sometimes it was like if a chipmunk sung over electric guitar. Is that normal? I mean, i guess it isn't, but can I arrange that from my home?

Despite of this, it was very nice.

Midchuck, I can't wait for the time when the real time "sessions" become possible. I get the occasional message now suggesting alternatives to Hearme that apparently make this possible but we have not come up with anything yet.

My own feeling is that the speed of communications would need to be a lot faster than we have before it can become feasable but that is just my guess. Do you know antyhing on this subject? If so, please advise.

Jon

Where The Liles Used to Spring--lyrics by David Gray, music by me
MacGregor's Gathering--words by Sir Walter Scott, music by me
I'll Have To Say I Love You In a Song--Jim Croce
Living for the Lovelight (In Your Eyes)--by Donovan
Let Your Love Flow--by The Bellamy Brothers
Seeing My Father in Me--by Paul Overstreet
I Was Too Busy Being In Love--by Doug Stone

That was really wonderful. We even got to hear Mrs. Midchuck sing harmony with Midchuck! Just lovely, everyone! And, Clinton Hammond almost burnt dinner & his cat...it was exciting there for a minute wehn he text wrote "Fire!!!", but everybody was fine!**BG**

I read a couple of poems or so by my grandad, Frank Hudson; sang his poem "The Wastral & the Vagrant", my tune; Phil Ochs' "No More Songs"; my brother's "Evenings in Crsytal"; played Mudcatter, Paul G.'s, song on CD, "Sails Against the Wind" and sang along, so it sounded like I had really fantastic guitar backup!; Kim Mckee's "The Pattern"; and, I can't remember what else.

Thanks!

Sometimes it ends just when more would like to pile in, but as they come in there is no one there so the new arrivals split. Sometimes, tho, if you hang around, someone else will show up.... there is a way to split your screen so you can be in HearMe and also do other stuff.
