I'll be in Boston at the Intelligent Transportation Systems of America conference 4/30/00 thru 5/3/00. Does anyone know of song circles, shanty sings, or other good music events during that time?????

The Boston Folk and Traditional Singers Club meets at 9PM at Paddy Burke's, 132 Portland Street, Boston. Given your line of work, you should know that the closest stop on the T is Haymarket. Call Brian 781-322-7084.

If you arrive in Boston early, there is a singing session on Friday night at the Irish Center in Canton, MA (approximately 15 miles south of Boston). Call Maureen 781-767-4401.

The Boston Folk & Traditional Singers club hasn't switched over to our summer hours yet. We're starting closer to 10pm, & stay sometimes til 1am. If we're not up on the 3rd floor by 10, ask around for the Singers club at the bar, near the door.

Dan is quoting from a mistake I made on a flier. The above # is Mick's. Brian's is (781) 326 - 6872, & mine is (781) 891 - 0457. You don't have to call, but we'd be happy to tell you more. We lean toward songs of Ireland & the UK, but anything goes. And one of our frequent attendees is Mudcatter, Barry Finn, who loves to throw in some sea chanteys.

I think I am gettin into Boston airport around 8:15 pm. So hopefully I will see you there!!! Of course, if my boss snags me for last minute preparations on the conference I won't be able to make it.

Thanks for a wonderful time last night!!! I was blown out of the water on the quality of the singing and the chance to hear songs that I have never heard before. Thanks also for listening (and clapping) to my songs. I'm slowly coming out but it is still hard for me to sing in public.

Hope to see all of you down in the D.C. area in the future, especially the FSGW Getaway weekend in October. I promise myself I will make it this year!!!
