Subject: Peter Jameson?

I have an album from the early 70s called "It's been So Long" with Spencer Davis: vocals, 6-string,12-string, and electric guitar, autoharp and harp. Peter Jameson:Vocals,6 and 12 string and bottleneck guitar.
My question is; Who is/was Peter Jameson? I have queried many knowledgeable people and no one seems to know.Any references in books to his name, link him to this one album.
Also on the album are: Barney Kessel,Larry Knechtal, and Richard Landis.
This question has been hanging with me for almost 30 years and I figure the Mudcat will be source of the answer!

PS. It's got some good picking on it.

I thought I remembered a thread about him, but that was Peter Johnson. Sorry I can't help. Hope somebody else will! - Susanne

RR, try The Spencer Davis Group website - there appears to be the means to email him, let us know if you find out!

Peter Jameson can be seen accompanying Dory Previn on a live performance of "Mythical Kings and Iguanas" included in
Singer-Songwriters at the BBC (series 01) Episode 03.    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00v9lhx

This performance of "Mythical Kings" was taken from an Old Grey Whistle Test Concert circa 1977. I do not have inside information, but as far as I know, neither the OGWT or the Singer-Songwriter series is currently scheduled for re-broadcast.

Peter played in along side me in various incarnations of my bands in the 70's.
He was a dear friend and had a wicked sense of humour!
He is a great guitarist, singer-songwriter, and also a fine wood craftsman.
He handmade a lot of the furniture for my brother's home.
I have tons of great memories of Peter, one of the greatest
being him cooking me eggs and bacon toast in his kitchen.

                                                   Cheers Peter!

Dear Peter Jameson's sister, I'm not sure which one you are cos I know there were 3 of you I think. I last heard from your brother very many years ago when he called round my house in Woodford and I wasn't home and when I got in my dad said 'some long haired bloke came round to see you' and I haven't seen or heard from him since. It may be fanciful but I think I may have given him a guitar. Hope you're well. Robert

I did not know Peter, but my band Seabyrd opened for Peter and Spencer Davis in July 1971 at the Unicorn Coffeehouse in Boston. Both very nice guys. Taught us "Dear Prudence."
