I once heard someone sing a song, which he introduced as being about Rambling Jack Eliot (or maybe it was Rambling Conrad.) The chorus went:

He flies, he floats, he locomotes
... rigs and ..., ... horses and boats
And he's gone again
He's a most unusual
Down home beautiful
Giant of a natural
Slam-bang animal gentleman

Anybody know the rest of the words?

Jacob I hope someone does! It's a terrific song written by John Herald, one of my all time favourite artists. I couldn't figure out the lyrics from his recording.

Rick, do you know who the song was written about?

I found a website for John Herald. It showed "Ramblin' Jack Elliott" as the name of a song on one of his albums. I guess that's probably the name of the song I'm asking about.

(Actually, I'm just refreshing the thread so that it can be seen by people who just sign on to the Mudcat on the weekend, but I figured I might as well add the little piece of additional information I had found while I was at it.)

Aw, and I thought it would be about Jesus!

Well? Maybe it could be! Can't wait to see how this ends!

Last word I heard was that they crucified him Praise, but there may be late breaking news on CNN.

Yes, it's about Jack Elliot. Anybody know anything about the lyrics?

Rick
