Good Question - It certanly would scan to "county Down" - but if the other tune is correct - how do the words fit the dots?

Nothing like The Star of the County Down ........ go to utube and type in "The Rose of Aranmore", you'll get a few artists singing it.

It's a nice tune. I think I'll get it out next St Patrick's Day, because the gang will like it.

There are videos on YouTube posted by bertosvids which are nice and clear for transcribing or learning by ear.

Clearly not the same tune as Star of County Down
