BEST OF MONTREAL -- Montreal Mirror Readers' Survey

Every year, the alternative weekly Montreal Mirror polls its readers in their "Best of Montreal" survey covering several dozen categories.

I was delighted (and totally surprised) to see that, of the many hundreds of radio shows heard on all of the radio stations in the city, Folk Roots/Folk Branches placed fourth in the "Best Radio Show" category. Of the shows that came in ahead of FR/FB, one is a CBC network program and the others are on major commercial FM stations.

I was also very flattered to receive an Honourable Mention in the "Best Radio Host" category.

Great. Congratulations. Now does your show go out on the internet so folks here in New Zealand can hear it?

And is Jean Carrignan still fiddling up a storm?

Roger

Thanks Roger.

We're in RealAudio in real time (9-11:30 am eastern). I had an e-mail a few months back from someone listening in Australia.

The RealAudio link is available on the Folk Roots/Folk Branches site.

Unfortunately, Jean Carignan passed away some years ago. IMHO, the greatest traditional French Canadian musician of all time.
