This is what I've got so far. Bits of it I can't make out. Can anyone help?

Much have I travelled, many sights I have seen
Since I left my home in, that island of green
From London to Boston, wherever I roam
I long to return to, My Old Sligo Home

How joyful that good day, that we all spent
As we walked by Glencar, so happy and content
In hazenwood meadows, I oft walked alone
Mid scene's of contentment, near My Old Sligo Home

For the bright lights of London, are pretty to see
And the sidewalks of New York, are so grand to me
But I'd change it all, and never more roam
To take the road westward, to My Old Sligo Home

To see great Benbulben and the high Knockneray
And the sun reclining, o'er sweet Sligo Bay
The g blows out to the foam
Amidst the green hillsides near My Old Sligo Home

Farewell to that old home, and the kind folks I knew
Every song and story, with hearts loyal and true
Some day I will wander, back home across the foam
To take the road westward, to My Old Sligo Home

For the bright lights of London, are pretty to see
And the sidewalks of New York, are so grand to me
But I'd change it all, and never more roam
To take the road westward, to My Old Sligo Home
To take the road westward, to My Old Sligo Home

I reckon "hazenwood" is a typo for "hazel wood" - even if a meadow is a strange place to find them! "Knocknarea" is, I think, the nearer the correct spelling for a nearby mountain.

Regards

Yes, it's a place called Hazelwood just outside Sligo...

and the Garavogue river doesn't blow out to the sea; it flows out to the sea

It's also Knocknarea.

My Old Sligo Home
Words and music composed and written by
Michael Maloney

Much have I travelled, many sights I have seen,
Since I left my home in that island of green.
From London to Boston and wherever I roam,
I long to return to my Old Sligo Home.

How Joyful that good day that we all spent,
As we walked by Glencar so happy and content.
In Hazelwood Meadows I oft walked alone,
Mid scenes of contentment near my Old Sligo Home.

Chorus

For the bright lights of London are pretty to see.
And the sidewalks of New York are so grand to me.
Someday I will travel back home cross the foam.
To take the road Westward to my Old Sligo Home

To see grey Benbulben and the high Knocknarea.
And the sun declining o'er sweet Sligo Bay.
The Garavogue River flows out to the foam.
Amidst the green hillsides near my Old Sligo Home.

Farewell to that old home and the kind folks I knew.
Every song and story with friends kind and true.
I'll change it all, no more shall I roam.
To take the road Westward to my Old Sligo Home.

Chorus

For the bright lights of London are pretty to see.
And the sidewalks of New York are so grand to me.
Someday I will travel back home cross the foam.
To take the road Westward to my Old Sligo Home.
