Subject: RE: Mudcatter Music in Phoenix May 20 & 21 From: Jed at Work Date: 18 May 00 - 12:18 PM The Fiddler's Dream is one of the best acoustic music venue anywhere, and has a national reputation for hosting great music (I will try my level best not to tarnish that reputation)! The One World Bakery and Coffee House appears to be a rather eclectic art, food, music sort of place, tucked into a local neighborhood strip mall! Should be interesting. I would love to meet any and all Mudcatters at either or both places. If ya come to the One World show, please bring your voice and/or instrument. I believe it is a laid back sorta place, and could do a bit of jamming! My wife and I will be there for the weekend, and we'll be bringin' a camera; so we can capture the Mudcatter Photo ops. Please, come on out and say hello. I'm lookin' forward to the trip! |

Subject: RE: Mudcatter Music in Phoenix May 20 & 21 From: JedMarum Date: 18 May 00 - 11:36 PM thanks for the kind thoughts MM and Jeff - wish y'all could be there too! I am looking forward to the show, Doug ... 'cept I see that they have booked the night as a group thing, and my music cohorts have bailed out (lovers spat, now they can't talk to one another, bummer). I comin' up to play solo, which is fine by me, but have just sent off the news to the Fiddler's - hope they don't mind. (frankly it suits me just fine). My wife and I hope to see a bit of the area. Have you been out and about, Doug? What's a good place to go (non-city) and not too far? |

Subject: RE: Mudcatter Music in Phoenix May 20 & 21 From: JedMarum Date: 21 May 00 - 10:34 AM Half way through the weekend. Played at the One World Bakery and Coffe House last night. Great folks there, great place; tucked away in a little shopping area, warm friendly atmosphere, great food/coffees, teas - surprisingly nice sound system, which we moved outside on the patio. The hot Arizona sun gave us a break after 8PM or so, and the temperature dropped from 104 into the 90s. Music echoing among the shops and walkways, people walking by, stopping, listening, joining in ... I brought my brought my big Larrivee and my rewired backpacker. The Larrivee objected to the heat, at first, but settled down pretty early on, and kept its tune pretty well. The Backpacker drifted some all night - but its sweet tones cut through the hot Arizona evening. Nice show, nice people, hope to get back there one day. |

Subject: RE: Mudcatter Music in Phoenix May 20 & 21 From: JedMarum Date: 21 May 00 - 07:24 PM ... we will be heading for the Fiddler's Deam, shortly. It takes about 30 mnutes from this side of town, and I want to get there early. We drove to Sedona today; drank in the beauty of the desert mountains, wandered through a shop or two, drove in silence through the winding desert highways - warm humor between the two of us, remembered stories, chuckles over kids mishaps, photo ops along the way at rest stops and roadsides with magnificent views. Time well spent! The trip needs a week, not a day! Rested and ready for tonight. Looking forward to the Fiddler's Dream Coffee House. |
