Bonnie - that's 9:00 Mudcat time.

If, when you post, your clock has the same time as what Mudcat claims the time you posted was, it's 9:00 for you. Otherwise you'll have to adjust by the amount of time difference between you and Mudcat time. (Boy, this sounded a whole lot cleared in my head)

Mbo - maybe we should post start times by Mudcat time, to avoid confusion (especially if I'm gonna post in the thread )

Golly, since you are starting late, I won't be quite so late tonite. I have a PAYING gig that I don't think will be over until about 10 Cat time, so that only makes me an hour late, instead of 2 or 3!! Whoopee!

I'll be working on a new link for the Hearme Sessions. I just found a whole bunch of new neat things I could do. I'll see if I can get it ready by the next session. When I'm done, I'll start a thread and put it into the QuickLinks.

Great and sorry about the "it should go something like" - bad editing on my part - truth is I don't know how to do it without something like a button to click.

Incedentally, this new Hearme link and mine both use the same Hearme server but one page will not see the other so please announce when you are ready so that we can all move over together and be on the same page (I'll change my page to refer anybody who gets there to Mudcat).

If you happen to have an older machine (computer) check the SYSTEMS REQUIREMENT before you check in so you don't botch things up like I did four or five weeks ago. Hopefully one of these days I will either up date this machine or buy something a little better.

It's a great site and I hope to get back in there one of these days.

Cap't Bob, it may be advisable to check out the system requirements but there is no way that you botched things up. It was dissapointing that we couldn't hear you properly and I'm sure that you were a little upset that we couldn't fully appreciate your efforts but it didn't cause any problems.

As far as I understand it, you could at least hear others reasonably clearly and could join the text chat and you are always welcome to do that even if you can't participate by singing or playing.

Well, it sure felt great to finally get into the HearMe. Even if I couldn't get the sound to work, I feel very accomplished. I'll just have to work on it.

Rule No. 1: don't try stuffing around with the back of your 'puter when you are on-line just because you want to see if the mic you've got will work, because you might accidentally flip the phone connection out and bye-bye HearMe & Mak, without a word of explanation or the chance to say goodbye.

I have discovered the perfect solution for holding the f9 key down. I use a small C clamp. This works perfect for the type of keyboard I have. Don't know if it would work on a flat keyboard

Someone please tell me how to log off politely! (That is, I want my logoff to be polite, not the way you tell me to logoff.) The first time I kind of vanished, then yesterday I disconnected, while all the others are "Name is leaving now" or some such. I think I should click something so I leave more gracefully. Anyone want to tell me what to do?

Mrr - I usually say "goodnite" or some such in text box, then I close the text, close the Hearme box and close jon's page. When you close the hearme box HEARME says "whatever your name is" has left...

I don't know if this is just TOO obvious, but a Kyser or a Schub capo is the perfect device to hold down the F9 key.

I was on this HearMe session and Mbo played Rosbif Waltz which he got from Alison. This goes back to the first personal contact I had with Alison because I sent her the sheet music back in July 1998 and she made it into a midi file. Then she played it on HearMe and sent the GIF to Mbo and then it came full circle because I heard him play it on guitar - beautiful.

So I thought it might make it easier to post it onto Alan's Mudcat MIDI page rather than everyone e-mailing it around individually. I can find out the details of a book of tunes by the Rosbif band which has the waltz in it. The book is called Massif Central and is available from Celtic Southern Cross in Tasmania.

Rosbif Waltz, is by a band which I believe is called Rosbif, possibly a Canadian Band
