Subject: Some links to midi and abc tunes From: GUEST,izzymac Date: 20 May 00 - 06:22 AM Haven't posted for a while so hi to everyone. Just to say I've put up a site for our ceilidh band and there is a page of links to midi and abc sites that I find useful when looking for new tunes. You may have them already or can suggest a load more? |

Subject: RE: Some links to midi and abc tunes From: John in Brisbane Date: 21 May 00 - 07:06 AM As Mary suggests, the Midi Explorer engine is the one I use 95% of the time. I use the version at http://www.cs.ruu.nl/pub/MIDI/MIRRORS/SMF/help/midi-search.html which also has another 10 or so extra engines if ever you need to find a really difficult one. MIDI Explorer is ruthlessly efficient - typically if it doesn't yield a result you can consider your file as almost unfindable by use of a search robot.
Some time ago somone requested if a Mudcatter could find a MIDI of The Road Runner Theme. I never did find one, but I might try 'meepmeep' in a couple of minutes.

Subject: RE: Some links to midi and abc tunes From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 22 May 00 - 09:18 AM John and Jeri, Thanks for the sites. I had bookmarked both of them, but never really used them. John, the Alta Vista search found one that the MIDI Explorer didn't find! Question: What are mirror sites, and why do you use them? Mary |
