There is a current recording of "Pig and the Inebriate" with a lyric that finished "'you can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses.' and with that, the pig got up and walked away." What bands have done this song?

I've got original sheet music of this, plus extra verses. It was called "The Famous Pig Song." Ring in if interested.

Frank Crumit recorded it in 1934, as "The Pig Got Up and Slowly Walked Away" and performed it oftent on his radio program.

I learned it from Bob Gibson about 1959. And 2 weeks ago I had occasion to do it off the top of my head for my MS support group's meeting. We were talking about the fact that our county (LaSalle County, Illinois) now has the highest per capita rate of alcoholism in the entire U.S.A. We vie back and forth for that honor with Dade County, Florida.

It felt good to sing even that little song since I hadn't sung at all in the last 3 years.

Tiger, extra verses? You will share, yes? The version that I know is quite short, has only one verse. And in response to the initial query: who HASN'T done this song? Loads of fun!
