I heard a version of this song in the early eighties done by, if my memory serves me right, Waylon Jennings. Of course he didn't do the part about a poor boy from Cape Breton buying a one way ticket, but it was still a pretty good version. I will check with some friends in CB when I go there later this week to see if I can get you a copy of Matt's lyrics. If I can, I will e-mail them to you and post them as well.

The original version was done by the Marshall Tucker Band, if memory serves me correctly. They didn't do the intro about the poor boy from Cape Breton either. No offense but I always preferred the southern rock version. {It ain't a folk song.)
