Subject: I might have gone fishin' From: GUEST,rblaman@hotmail.com Date: 10 Jun 00 - 10:31 AM I'm looking to find the name of a song which my Dad used to sing; some of it's lyrics are - "I might have gone fishin' Been thinkin' it over But the road to the river Is a mighty long way . . . " If anyone could let me know the name of the song and who has recorded it (if anyone), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Richard B. Laman |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: I might have gone fishin' From: lamarca Date: 10 Jun 00 - 10:57 PM Debby McClatchy recently recorded this on her CD "Til the Good Times Come" - she credits it to Smiley Burnett, written for Gene Autry to sing. You could look for old Gene Autry recordings, or order Debby's album through Camsco here on Mudcat! |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: I might have gone fishin' From: GUEST,Frank of Toledo Date: 11 Jun 00 - 01:22 AM Nancy and I had Don Edwards in concert here in Toledo, Oregon two weeks ten days ago and he sang that song to as well as many others from the Gene Autry days. If you ever get the chance to go to a Don Edwards concert, be sure to do it. He is without a doubt the premier cowboy singer and guitarist of today..... |
