I'm looking for the title for the song which has the chorus: I've seen sober men and plenty And drunkards barely twenty etc.

Anyone?

Thanks

Dai.

Here you are then - just type a couple of words you are sure are in it is the Digital Tradition Lyrics Search up the top, and see what you come up with.

But since you're a visitor, and we'd like you to stay, click here and read it: RAMBLIN' ROVER

Mind you I seem to have the words as "sober men of twenty and drunken men in plenty", which strikes me as more in keeping with the paradoxical nature of the words in general. And with the notion that you're as old or as young as you feel like feeling.

So is my version the variant or the earlier one? And does anyone know anything more about the song?

I know it's not that long since Andy Stewart (sp?) wrote it, I'm sure it's very close to his heart. Barry

Barry: The spelling is correct. I am a big Andy Stewart/ Silly Wizard fan. Great to know I'm not the only one. Neil

Yeah, but which way did he write it, with the 20 year old fellas sober or drunk? (Not that that's the cruciial thing - the point is, which works better in the song?)

I have a very good recording of Tich Frier singing this song - was it really written by Andy Stewart? Mind you I shouldn't be surprised when you think of songs like Campbelltown(?) Loch.

Bobby's Girl: Rambling Rover was indeed written by Andy M. Stewart. I just checked I have the CD. I never heard of Tich Frier but i'd be interested in hearinh his (or her) version. Have a great night, Neil
