Subject: RE: Lyrics Req: Killibegs by The Chieftans From: Date: 31 Jul 97 - 06:17 PM Are there only those two verses to Boys of Killybegs? I've got it on 50 favourite Irish Pub Songs, but that particular medley has only those two verses as well. Coulda swore there was more to it. |
Subject: RE: Lyrics Req: Killibegs by The Chieftans From: Tully Date: 05 Aug 97 - 12:25 PM Correct there are more verses. But I don't know them. Tommy Makem sang least two more verses, on his recent Public television show.

If you know the Chieftains version I would be very grateful to see it. In the meantime, here's Tommy Makem's "Boys from Killybegs.”
BOYS OF KILLYBEGS
There are wild and rocky hills on the coast of Donegal.
CHORUS: With a pleasant, rolling sea and the herring running free,
Well you've donned your rubber boots and you've got your oilskins on,
Now you're headed out to sea and the wind is running free,
When the weather's blowing rough and the work gets very tough,
Well there's purple on the hills and there's green down by the shore, |
