Hi Sophoclese, Yes I had the Millrace T shirt on, we actually talked to each other on the way back from the Main building. You had your daughter with you at the time and your husband was on stage playing fiddle. If that is not enough, I am also the Octameroid on the end who never shuts up and bashes the Bodhran. Or the Orange Peel dancer with the Tuxedo Tatters. JohnB |

Subject: RE: Mudcatter's Meet - Orillia, Ont July1 From: GUEST,JohnB Date: 03 Jul 00 - 10:39 AM So, I only just started reading this Mudcat stuff. I had problems with my hard drive a week or so back, then when I get back on I read about the Toroto Mudcatters meeting. This really upset me, particularly as we only live in the Orangeville area and saw Rick Fielding only a month or so back at the "Last Spike Folk Club" he was great. So I start reading more things today and find out that there was a Mudcatters Event in Orillia. This is even more upsetting because I WAS THERE at the same event. I dance with Orange Peel and also sing with Octamerous. I know Rana, I could have met sophoclese and anyone else who was there. Definately DO NOT have a Mudcatters Get together at Mariposa because we are dancing at the Buskers festival in Orangeville. There again, I have probably given you all the excuse that you need to have another get together without me :) There again you never even knew I was here. JohnB |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter's Meet - Orillia, Ont July1 From: sophocleese Date: 02 Jul 00 - 10:30 PM Rana heard me sing and I got to see him dance. It was a pleasant afternoon and lovely way to spend Canada Day. For any Mudcatters that might be coming to Mariposa we should try and figure out a place to meet, the beer tent?. I'm volunteering as a stage hand and storyteller as well as performing briefly. |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter's Meet - Orillia, Ont July1 From: Rana Date: 02 Jul 00 - 01:48 PM Just to clarify (I always get coming and next confused a bit) Mariposa takes place on the the shores of Lake Couchiching, Orillia (Ontario) July 7,8, 9 (2000) Rana |
Subject: RE: Mudcatter's Meet - Orillia, Ont July1 From: Rick Fielding Date: 02 Jul 00 - 08:48 AM Have a great time Rana. And don't forget the Mariposa Folk Festival NEXT weekend. I'm sure I'll run into a few Mudcatters. Say hello to Soph. She's a fine singer. Rick |
Subject: Mudcatter's Meet - Orillia, Ont July1 From: Rana Date: 02 Jul 00 - 08:45 AM We (Greenfiddle Morris), were asked to dance at the "Arts for Peace" gathering at the Stephen Leacock House in Orillia yesterday (July 1). I was surprised when someone approached me and asked 'Are you "Rana Who Should Be Working"?' It turned out to be Sophoclese. Anybody else come across another Mudcatter unexpectedly? Turned out to be a very pleasant day, I heard Sophoclese and her partner perform - which was really nice (and an added bonus!). For those who don't know, Orillia is the home of Mariposa. The Festival returns there this coming weekend. You could see the park site from the grounds of Leacock House. Cheers Rana (who isn't working today) |
