I am please to announce a new CD by local San Francisco Bay Area band Out of the Rain, which I produced myself. It is comprised of exerpts from live concerts done by the band from about 1983 to 1996.

Out of the Rain played traditional and some contemporary music from Ireland, Scotland, and England. We were known for three part acapella singing although we play instruments as well.

For those of you already familiar with the band, none of the songs on the CD are on either of our two previously released cassette tapes.

I have sent a copy of the CD to Max so you might be able to hear some of the cuts on his radio show.

The tracks on the CD are:

Track 1 - The Creggan White Hare
Track 2 - Siúl a Rún
Track 3 - If I Was A Blackbird
Track 4 - The Merry Sisters / Craig's Pipes / The Curlew
Track 5 - The Grey Funnel Line (Cyril Tawney)
Track 6 - Will Ye Go To Flanders
Track 7 - The Wild Rover
Track 8 - Goodnight and Joy (James Hogg)
Track 9 - The Bright Shining Morning
Track 10 - Blind Mary/Belles of Tipperary/Shearing the Sheep
Track 11 - The Meeting of the Waters (Thomas Moore)
Track 12 - Slieve (Sliobh) Gallen Braes
Track 13 - Austin Barry's / Clare Jig / Bank of Turf
Track 14 - Down by the Glenside (Peadar Kearney)
Track 15 - The Walls of Troy (Terry Conway)

The CD is available directly through me for $15 ($16 with postage). Anyone interested can contact me at:

Hi radriano, congradulations on your new CD. Nice selection of tunes & songs. I take it you're at least singing, could you mention what songs you're singing (if you are) & who else is on the CD & what they're doing. Thanks Barry

I just got this CD and it is a real gem. Out Of The Rain was one of the mainstays of the SF bay area folk scene in the '80's. Thanks for putting together those live "vault treasures," rradriano.

WHOA, thanks. I just got this CD yesterday from radriano & already I'm in fear that I've worn it out. The singing is to die for. That old slow version of the Wild Rover I haven't heard for nearly 20 yrs. I keep thinking of 'this song's that, ya, & that song's this & it's just that every single song on that CD is a knockout, WOW. Great job & thanks, I owe you big time. As soon as my throat's a little clearer I'll be snailing you. Thanks again, Barry
