Bob, I found a link through Google stating that Joe Offer, site Archivist, has reported that you provided the words but are not the author. It may be a while before the correction is made to the DT database. http://www.mudcat.org/detail_pf.cfm?messages__Message_ID=3796441

This is the page needing correction(see your initials on this lyric sheet from DT) :
@displaysong.cfm?SongID=9625

I hope this is helpful.

I am not the author, writer, singer, owner, or keeper of this song. How my name got attached to it I do not know. Correction, please!

why thank you very much... I'm planning on being at Hearme Sunday evening and will sing it again, as Animaterra would like to hear it... I'll probably be on starting around 7pm central time and will be on until "whenever"...

And a lovely job you did, too, Branwen23. Hope to hear
you sing it again.

tomorrow I'll be up by Seven A.M. central time... have a performance tomorrow afternoon. I'll be out the door probably by nine or so, but could take time out to sing it for you... I sang it at hearme sometime last week, but you were nowhere to be found...

Branwen, I have GOT to hear you sing this! How can we coordinate our Hearme times? Tonight's probably out, by the way. Maybe tomorrow? How early do you get up in the am???

I think I have a mike... how do I "come to hearme tonight and sing it?" (you'll have to explain it to me like I'm a six year old...)

how do I do this and what time... please specify time zone, I'm in central time, Dallas, TX

Well I'm eager to hear the tune! Does your computer have a mike? Could you come to hearme tonight and sing it?

no, there's a tune... I did this tune a few years ago with my old guitar-playing partner... I've now been recruited into a new band, and am trying to bring in some of my tunes... the problem is that I'm a vocalist, not a guitar player, so I don't know any of the chords we used for all these tunes... kind of a dilemma...

Is this an existing song with a tune, and you're looking for the chords to play with it, or a lyric that so far hasn't got a tune?

I'm probably being dead ignorant here, and it's top of the relevant charts in the USA or New Zealand or somewhere......

Subject: Lyr Add: MAY YOU: FOLKSINGER'S SONG (Jan Marra)
From: Branwen23

need chords for "Folksinger's song"

Lyrics go like this:

May You: FOLKSINGER'S SONG
(Jan Marra)

Chorus:
May you never be sorry you traveled this road,
May you find all the work that you need.
May your eyes be bright when you're out late at night,
May never your glory get mixed up with greed.

May you always be paid all the money you're owed,
May you never get shafted and never get snowed,
May you never be forced into anyone's mold,
May your breakfast be hot and your beer always cold.

There's a number of people who'll sit in the rear,
They'll talk through your sets, they will catcall and jeer
A number of people will turn a deaf ear,
Just keep right on playing for those who will hear.

Chorus

May they clap for your songs, may they laugh at your jokes
May they stay all night long, may they buy you rum cokes,
May they take to dinner and treat you to tokes,
May you make your bed among warm friendly folk.

When the time comes to pack up and ramble along,
May never you wonder just where you belong,
And if you hit hard times may they make you strong.
May every experience lend to your song.

Chorus

May your heart be light, may you sleep well at night,
And I hope that you find all the love that you need.

---------------------

Anyone know the chords?
