this is a folk/rock song from the 60-70s, with some really unusual chording. i've searched every key word i can think of, but get loads of other songs. words are something like: "when the deep purple falls over sleepy garden walls, and the stars begin to twinkle in the night, in the midst of my memory, you wander on back to me, breathing my name with your sighs."

chorus has the line "in my deep purple dreams"

any help appreciated

This is an old Mitchell Parish/Peter DeRose song, and, at least at one point, members of his family, who use the membername, Parish, were involved in mudcat. It was very popular in the Forties and Fifties, as well.

There's a guy at one of the retirement homes where I do music who has been asking me for this song, and the chords aren't intuitively obvious, so I googled to find them, and, guess what? The first listing I found for the chords was right here at Mudcat!

I've always thought of this song as trad jazz or pop, not folk or rock, so I was a bit surprised to find it here, especially with that description. LOL

Anyway, thanks to GUEST web for requesting the lyrics and chords. Thanks, Wolfgang for giving those links, but neither one takes you to the lyrics or chords now.
