Rev Gary Davis, in my opion is one of the greatest guitarist ever. His music is beautiful and challenging. If anyone could help me with tab to the following songs I would really appreciate it!!!

1 Sampson and Delilah

2 There Was a Time When I Was Blind

3 Children of Zion

4 Oh Glory How Happy I Am

I have all of the books published about Mr. Davis and these songs are sadly left out.

Thanks in advance,

Dreddy

Download to your heart's content here.

You will need a copy of Guitar Pro to view and hear these arrangements.

Bon appetite.

dreddy, I agree with your assessment of Rev. Davis' skills and music. Definitely one of the best ever. As to the tab your looking for: 1) the Shanachie booklet with "Blues To Gospel" contains none of the ones you are looking for (despite the blurb at their website). I believe these are all from available Grossman books (it's still a great CD if you don't already have it); 2) "Oh Glory.." is available at www.woodymann.com. Check the online workshop there, lesson #2.

As far as I know the others are not available. Mike

Hi dreddy, a few months back Stefan Grossman did an online lesson teaching Samson and Delilah. You might be able to pull it up out of the archives there. It's at Stefan Grossman's Guitar Workshop (www.guitarvideos.com)go there and click on the New Woodshed. BTW, you'll also find lots of helpful RGD freaks there.

Hi, Dreddy ... welcome to the mudcat ... hope the info here helps. I "know" you from another mutual website and was pleased to see your name here. This is rather a different site than the other ... stick around ... you'll see ...

Grossman has a book in his "Masters of blues guitar" series on Gary Davis and I am pretty sure that has 1. and 2. I have lent my copy out, so I can't check it. I agree with Frankee and MikeJ. You should go to his site. He is pretty good at answering email messages in case you want to make a specific enquiry about those pieces.

Murray
