Subject: Multiple threads, same subject From: Joe Offer Date: 08 Jul 00 - 04:27 PM Hi, Dave - this is a great resource. I'm wondering, though, if it's a good idea to start a new thread to post this information, since there are already two other threads on this subject that are active today, Max Hunter - Bittersweet and Arkansas Field Recordings. The site is also listed on our links page. It's my personal opinion that multiple threads on a single subject usually tend to weaken a discussion, because they split the subject up, rather than bringing everybody together in one thread. Generally, I think we're better off having fewer threads, and we may be better off resurrecting and adding to old threads rather than starting new ones. An obvious exception is when an old thread has a generic name, or when it's a hundred messages long and taking an age to load - then it's time to start a new thread. But that Ozarks Max Hunter collection is really something, isn't it? It has recordings, lyrics, AND tunes. -Joe Offer- |
