I haven't found any notation, but there are a couple of brief Real Audio clips of the song available out there (first verse and chorus), if that's any help;  one by the composer, Allen Mills' band, Lost And Found:  Click Here  and one by somebody else:  Click Here.

I don't have the sheet music, but here are the lyrics as we have them:

Wild Mountain Flowers
(Allen Mills)

E B7
We grew up living close to each other
E
Went to school and played side by side
A
And I longed for the day I would ask her
E B7 E
If she would be my bride.

We grew up living close to each other
Went to school and played side by side
And I longed for the day I would ask her
If she would be my bride.

CHORUS
I picked some wild mountain flowers for Mary
And I told her I loved her today
But she said we never could marry
That her mother would stand in the way.

Her daddy died when she was very young
And she never knew love from a man
Oh, I tried hard to show that I loved her
And I tried to make her mother understand.

Well my best days are gone, but I'm happy
And my time's not very far away
I'll pick some wild mountain flowers for Mary
And I'll place them on her grave here today.

^^

I didn't have it, but found the song title at CDNOW.com and they just list the songwriter as "Mills."

Malcolm already provided the composer in his earlier post, Allen Mills.

Malcolm listed it above, Allen Mills of Lost and Found. I found it listed that way as well.

Ohhhh - NOW I see. Thanks for pointing that out, folks. Barbara, I tried fixing the spacing on the chords, but I'm not sure I figured it out right. If it's not right, could you e-mail it to me as an an attachment? Click on my name below to send me e-mail.

Read backwards, and didn't know why you said folks, as I thought I was the only one to make the comment about Malcolm's post, but I see Alice and I posted at the same time. Since it was such a simple statement, I hadn't gone back and checked it for accuracy after posting as I ordinarily do.

WILD MOUNTAIN FLOWERS FOR MARY
Allen Mills

We grew up living close to each other
Went to school sat side by side
And I longed for the day when I would ask her
If she would be my loving bride.

CHORUS: I picked some wild mountain flowers for Mary
And I told her I loved her today
But she said we never could marry
That her mother would stand in the way

Her daddy died when she was very young
And she never knew the love of a man
I tried so hard to make her happy
And tried to make her mother understand

Now my days of youth are gone and I'm so happy
And my time isn't very far away
I picked some wild mountain flowers for Mary
And placed them on her grave today

I picked some wild mountain flowers for Mary
And placed them on her grave today.

"Next on stage (again, porch), was my new found Baptist friend Allen Mills (upright Bass, lead and tenor vocals) of Virginia State USA, with Lost and Found Bluegrass band, a quartet of classic contemporary southern fried bluegrass.
"Highlighting this performance was a narrative song of the Dan River Cotton Mills in the '50's- Wild Mountain Flowers for Mary along with Love of the Mountains and a classic of Old Joe Clark".

From a review of a performance in Waterloo, Ontario, March 2, 2009.
