Hallo all, as many of you know we have had some message from mother earth lately and i do not had much time to spend on mudcat, but at the moment mother Earth is sleeping so I have some time to do some things I like to do at my free time. Nobody got hurt from those two earthquakes here in Iceland but some buildings got some cracks . I got to the bluenight festival and we played there among other bands, I would like to see some members of mudcat at this festival next year. The place we are playing at is in the middle of the earthquakes area, but that is okei. Does anyone have the telephone number at Rick Fieldings radio show? and is it posseble to play a video tape out from the mudcat radio? Why, becouse i have a tape from channel two here in Iceland with my band Tamóra playing two songs. And if you want me to send it over , i can.I have to but it on an nother tape i think so you can play it. Well have to go , all the best skarpi Iceland.

Hi skarpi,

Glad no one was injured during the earthquakes. I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to give you the information you asked for, but in the meantime, it's good to hear from you and know you are okay.

The festival sounds like fun. Hope the tapes can be aired, would love to hear your band.

Giac

I can make the video available on the mudcat, yes. I cannot do it while we are live, but I can attach it to the show for the archive. Give me more details about the tape, such as length, etc. and I can contemplate more options. Glad that all is well skarpi.

Hi skarpi!! Great to hear from you!! And double glad no one was hurt. I am not a techie, but I do know the quality of the video on the Radio Show is not great. I doubt that would matter much, because Max could always just dub the music off your video and play it. I am sure there is a way to do it. Here, Max.

Skarpi! So glad you're safe and sound, and glad to have you back. We missed you! Can't wait to hear your band, tell us about the Bluenight Festival, was it fun for you?

PJ

(p.s. I love the way you spell okei, that's how I'm going to spell it from now on, I hope you don't mind!)

Glad to hear your voice, well fingers. An update on the Vikings you mentioned in an earlier post. They did not get their funding, so some of the crew came to New York for op sail without their boat. Lovely family, the Romsenburgs. I had the great pleasure to play the pipes for them at a party in their honnor and then they came to hear my band playing in Central Park (busking). Very well behaved Vikings! They also sang losts of great Dannish music. I told them about your post last month on their behalf. All the best, and hopes for peaceful nights sleep with out your nation rollercoasting around on the North Atlantic. Leave the tossing and turning to the Viking Boats.
Slan go foil agus Vi ses!

Hallo again , Max the tape is about 4 min and 22 point 38 seconds long, that is the songs but there is some note before the songs about 2 min. some thing you wont have to play. The tape is VHS and i have to but on tape type you use in the states.

I had so much fun on the bluenight festival and this is the first festival that I take apart and I learned alot about it . We plaayed for about 60 min, and all songs from Ireland in English and in Gealic.

Like I said before i would like to see some fellow mudcatters nnext year I know the flightfair is not cheep but as well playing at the festival travel around the country. All the best skarpi Iceland.

Hi skarp......Good to hear the news and also I heard you talking to Peter on Rick's show but it was really too bad they couldn't get you on the air!

I think a lot of us would love to come to Iceland skarpi my friend, but most of us are dead broke most of the time I'm afraid.......Kinda' goes with the territory!

But I guarantee you if ANY of us ever make it, they'll bring a lot of stuff from all of us back here and will be busy taking pictures and videos of the trip.

Hello, skarpi, thanks for the news from Iceland. We were just talking about Icelandic music in the thread called "Mostly Finnish Music." Do you have any information about Anna Thorhallsdottir? I have an old recording of her singing Icelandic folk songs, but wondered if her style was quite traditional or not. Thanks! Margaret

Hello, my friend. I see that I have a personal from you that needs answering and I will take care of that today. But publicly let me just say that I am relieved that Mother Earth just cleared her throat, and no one was hurt. I understand being busy, believe me I do, but keep in touch. You are one of the best of the Mudcatters.

All the best,

Big Mick

Hey, skarpi, it was great talking to you! We talked about all sorts of things, how his band was doing, how much it was going to cost to get to the Autumn Mudcat event, and the earthquakes. As Rick says, sorry we couldn't get you on air. The machinery at CIUT is always breaking down -- so we cut you off when we tried to put you on the air. Sorry about that, but it was a thrill!!! With katlaughing calling from Wyoming, the show had about an 8,000 miles listening radius!!

yours, Peter T.
