Subject: Song of Lady Bessy?
From: GUEST,Louigi

A book I am reading about the events leading up to the Battle of Bosworth and the death of Richard III of England cites a contemporary song, the Song of the Lady Bessy. Does anyone have any more information on this song? Supposedly, 'Lady Bessy' is Elizabeth of York, who became Henry VII's bride after his victory. Any assistance would be appreciated! :)

It is a very long poem – 48 pages in the following edition, and therefore not a good candidate for copying into this forum.

The Most Pleasant Song of Lady Bessy, the Eldest Daughter of King Edward the Fourth; and How She Married King Henry the Seventh of the House of Lancaster by Henry Brereton, with notes by Thomas Heywood (London: Richard Taylor, 1829)
