Subject: Lyr Add: PARTY TILL THE MONEY RUNS OUT (Ed Volker) From: Jim Dixon Date: 10 Jan 10 - 02:57 PM You can hear a live recording (probably a bootleg) of The Radiators at The Internet Archive. Here's my transcription. It might be a bit different from their official recording. PARTY TILL THE MONEY RUNS OUT A nickel is a nickel and a dime is a dime. Come on, baby, let's have a good time. [REPEAT] Went wrong with the whiskey. Went wrong with the gin. When I went wrong with my baby, that's when my hard times begin. Party 'til the money run out. Party 'til the money run out. If you want to know who a happy fool is, Party 'til the money run out. I had a lot o' money. That didn't last too long. With the dirty creepy friends I had, my money soon be gone. Party 'til the money run out, Luigi, Party 'til the money run out. If you want to know who a happy clam is, Party 'til the money run out. A fool and his money— I went wrong with the propane. I went wrong with the gasoline. My life become a nightmare when I lost my sweet dream. Party 'til the money run out. Party 'til the money run out. If you want to know who a happy clam is, Party 'til the money run out. Party 'til the money run out. Party 'til the money run out. If you want to have a good time at last [or "in life"?], Party 'til the money run out. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Party Until the Money Runs Out From: Jim Dixon Date: 08 Jan 10 - 08:05 PM PARTY 'TIL THE MONEY RUNS OUT is actually a different song. It was written by Ed Volker, and recorded by The Radiators on their album "Party On," 1996. It has a sort of Cajun or maybe Zydeco feel. I transcribed this from a sample at Allmusic.com: Went wrong with the whiskey. Went wrong with the gin. When I went wrong with my baby, that's when my hard times begin. Party 'til the money run out. Party 'til the money run out. If you want to know who your real friends are, Party 'til the money run out. |
Subject: Lyr Add: 'TIL THE MONEY RUNS OUT (Tom Waits) From: GUEST,999--Better one here. Date: 07 Jan 10 - 02:49 AM 'TIL THE MONEY RUNS OUT Tom Waits Check this strange beverage that falls out from the sky, Splashin' Bagdad on the Hudson in Panther Martin's eyes. He's high and outside wearin' candy-apple red. Scarlet gave him twenty-seven stitches in his head. With a pint of green chartreuse ain't nothin' seems right. You buy the Sunday paper on a Saturday night. Can't you hear the thunder? Someone stole my watch. I sold a quart of blood and bought a half a pint of scotch. Someone tell those Chinamen on Telegraph Canyon Road. When you're on the bill with the spoon there ain't no time to unload, So bye-bye, baby, baby, bye-bye. Droopy stranger, lonely dreamer, toy puppy, and the Prado, We're laughin' as they piled into Olmos' El Dorado. Jesus whispered, "Eeny, meany, miney, moe." They're too proud to duck their heads. That's why they bring it down so low, So bye-bye baby, baby bye-bye. The pointed man is smack-dab in the middle of July, Swingin' from the rafters in his brand-new tie. He said I can't go back to that hotel room; all they do is shout, But I'll stay wichew baby till the money runs out, So bye-bye baby, baby bye-bye. |
