Subject: So where do y'all play????? From: Pseudolus Date: 19 Jul 00 - 11:45 PM I know the Mudcat is global and hopping over to England to see someone's gig is out of the question (for me anyway) but wouldn't it be cool to have a place where folks can post where they'll be playing and when? Maybe it already exists, I'm new. I realize that not everyone plays out in public but knowing where y'all will be playing sounds like a good way to actually meet some of you, well, at least the ones that live near me. Just a thought..... Frank P.S. If by chance you are in the Wilmington Delaware area and have play dates you're willing to share, let me know.....personal message, email, post!.....whatever... |

Subject: RE: So where do y'all play????? From: catspaw49 Date: 20 Jul 00 - 12:18 AM Welcome Pseudolus......You can also keep an eye on the threads for assorted gatherings of 'Catters here and there. Have you explored some of the other things here? On the dropdown Quick Links above, there is a "Resouces" listing which will give you pictures of some of us including some from events where we've been together. You're quite close to DC and there is a Folk Society Getaway weekend in October that last year drew a big load of 'Catters. Enter FSGW in the filter box and refresh for 90 days and you should gind a thread about this years event. There are also e-mail addys and location info at the Resources page. Did you try Mudcat Radio tonite? All the shows are archived on the Radio page too. You need RealPlayer 8. You can search the forum in a lot of ways using the digitrad search at the upper lefy. Or you can search a members name and read all of their postings. Sampling a few will get you an idea of some of the people here. We're glad to have you at the 'Cat. Spaw |

Subject: RE: So where do y'all play????? From: Pseudolus Date: 21 Jul 00 - 07:24 PM Actually Spaw I did. I didn't mean to imply there were none. DC's definitely a possibility!! I've already gone out and looked at some pictures so maybe I'll recognize some folks in October!! Sorcha, my favorite gig is at a Nursing Home here in Delaware. Unfortunately my Dad is in there, but you should see him light up when I start to play.....he's a big fan..... Thanks again, Frank |

Subject: RE: So where do y'all play????? From: Sorcha Date: 21 Jul 00 - 09:37 PM Frank, I did get to play a lot for my Dad and a couple of times after he went into the Home. One of my best memeories of my Mom is at my home on Christmas Day the year before she died. I got her viola out, and played everything I know that would sound good on a viola. It was the first time in over 20 years she had heard her own instrument. Was a real tear jerker for both of us. I am glad I did it. Finally, some of the good memories are coming back. |
