Goodbye for a while, I'm going away, I shall not log on for many a day. I'm off to the lowlands of Holland, and to sit beside the salt sea, I'm not going by train,though it will be a strain, It's a bicycle ride for me.

I shan't be around for a month or so, me and the sprockets and chain are off cycling. All of you have a nice summer. Cheers. Eric

THanks for hanging this one on the line, my doubly pointy headed friend. I, too, give notice of quitting my favourite cybercafe for a fortnight, on the good ship Natterjack for a week in Norfolk, and the even better ship Skipjack in Essex for t'other.

Will take the trolls and flamers with me, and sink 'em at sea, and look forward to returning to Golden Age of Mudcat in August.

I'm going away too, but for less time. I'm off tomorrow for a week at the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins, WV to study Irish fiddle, sleep too little, and drink too much! I'll try to check in if I can get to the library while it's open. If any other Mudcatters are there, I'll see you at the Ice House!

Guess what- I am back! 432 miles cycled. No guitar playing and it turns out I have missed the most superb session in the jug ever. Anyone know what is happening this week for Whitby, please let me know. Cheers. Eric

Jeffp, How was Agusta? Sounds like my kind of week. I must admit to being too much of a slug to bicycle (living in one of the hillier states in the US.) Hope fun was had in Wales and Holland.

I once went for a cycling and Busking trip in Holland. We arrived at the campsite in Amsterdam, and chained up the bikes, where they remained for the duration, save for one which we sold.

Subsequent busking trips have been more profitable, though not necessarily "better".

Susan, Augusta was wonderful! The weather was amazingly cooperative - comfortably warm during the day and cool at night. Learned a lot in fiddle class and some great sessions in the evenings, not to mention concerts and dances. Already saving up for next year, which will be the 25th Irish Week.

Now if I can only apply all that I learned and make my arms and fingers do it right!
