Subject: looking for song name and lyrics-- rel. humor From: Brhee@aol.com Date: 23 Jul 97 - 05:42 PM My mom is looking for the name and complete lyrics to a song my Grandfather used to sing her. Part of it goes I was born 400,000 years ago... I'm a highly educated little man It then goes on to relate stories from the bible in a series of humourous verses. If anyone knows of it I'd appreciate the info. TIA-- Brhee |
Subject: RE: looking for song name and lyrics-- rel. humor From: RS Date: 23 Jul 97 - 07:02 PM Is it possible you're looking for the song "The Great Historical Bum"? ( - may also go by other names too) It starts out - "I was born about ten thousand years ago And there's nothing in the world that I don't know I saw Peter, Paul and Moses playing Ring Aroud the Roses And I'll whup the guy that says it isn't so." If this sounds like it, I'll delve around for the rest of the words to post ... if not, I won't!

Subject: RE: looking for song name and lyrics-- rel. humor From: Alan of Oz Date: 23 Jul 97 - 07:13 PM I'll bet that's it. Once you run out of Bible stories it goes on ad infinitum with whatever limericks you can think of - get a group of people & sit in a circle, each person taking turns to add a verse. Cheers, |

Subject: RE: looking for song name and lyrics-- rel. humor From: Date: 30 May 98 - 12:02 AM My grandfather used to sing this song. I found versions of it here, but I knew there were verses that I remembered that I could not find. Your verse is one of them. Also, " I saw Noah when he built his famous ark. I sneaked in one night when it was dark..." "... I saw Jonas and the whale and I pulled a lions tale as I swam the land of Canna on a log". Does this sound like your version? I would really really appreciate it if you could send me the verses you know. Thanks so much in advance. Stacey |
