Trying to find old record, possibly by Eddie Lawrence, titled "The Old Philosopher". some of the lyrics: "the poet with his pen, the peasant with his plow, it's all the same, it's in the game somehow". Possibly dated around 1943. Would appreciate any help located either the song or the words. Thanks

The recording of "The Blue Bird Of Happiness" sung by Opera Singer Jan Pierce and often used by television stations as an end of broadcast day "sign off" contained a talking chorus. It went something like.. The poet with his pen, the peasant with his plow. It makes no differance who you are, it's all the same somehow.

The lyrics are here, in another thread:
THE BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS

There's another incomplete set of lyrics in a different thread:
THE BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS

I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie Lawrence quoted or satirized the song in one of his comedy routines, though.
