I'm trying to find the lyrics to "Forever Autumn," a song written by Jeff Wayne, Paul Vigrass and G. Osborne. It was sung by Justin Hayward (Moody Blues) on 2 Moody Blues albums, a solo album "Classic Blue," and is also part of Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" musical. I can't seem to find the lyrics anywhere on the Net and would like to know if anyone out there has them. Please email them to me. Thanks a bzillion! Pjcw

When you start a thread at Mudcat, please try to pick a title that specifically describes what you're looking for. Generic thread titles like this one cause a lot of confusion, and people often follow up and make it more confusing by adding requests for other songs.
For best results, please follow these guidelines:
  • Give threads specific titles
  • Please do not request more than one song in a thread

Even though the title of this thread is a problem for us, we'll do our best to help you find what you're looking for.
Thanks.

Subject: Lyr Add: FOREVER AUTUMN (Justin Hayward)
From: Rana who SHOULD be working
Date: 02 Aug 00 - 11:50 AM

Hi,
I found the one Sorcha sent but I think it is different. Came across this attributed to Justin Haywood. This is a copy of the e-mail I sent:

Found this using a Google search -

web page: http://www.ckdhr.com/hrose/songs/forever_autumn.html

Forever Autumn

Justin Hayward

The summer sun is fading as the year grows old
And darker days are drawing near...
The winter winds will be much colder
Now you're not here.

I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky
And one by one they disappear.
I wish that I was flying with them
Now you're not here

Like a song through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away...

Through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way
You always loved this time of year.
Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
'Cause you're not here

Like a song throught the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away...

A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes
As if to hide a lonely tear...
My life will be forever autumn
'Cause you're not here!

From: MMario

It's always a good idea to start a NEW thread to search for NEW lyrics...

however...

Shake a Snake
by Pinkard and Bowden

On........... a Sunday go to meetin' day deep in the south
there's a small congregation got some big cottonmouths
goin' nice snake, good snake, pretty snake, don't bite me snake
well, they're singin' and a prayin' and a passin' 'round the plate
if ya wants to see the promised land ya got to shake a snake
goin nice snake, good snake, pretty snake, don't bite me snake

Chorus
Well, everybody shake a snake, Glory Hallelujah
it's a love one another or the snake'll sock it to ya
yo-de-la-de.(bunch of yodeling...you get the idea)
everybody shake a snake praise God and you can drink
any poison thing if you don't doubt and keep the faith
good snake, nice snake, for God's sake don't bite me snake

Well I ain't makin' fun 'cause who's to say
what's right and what's wrong or who knows the way
they go nice snake, good snake, pretty snake, don't bite me snake
Well they're weedin' out the hypocrites, the heathens and the fakes
Sayin' you might fool ya brother, but you don't fool a snake
goin' nice snake, good snake, pretty snake, don't bite me snake
