Growing up I always used to listen to Mac Davis records. Especially his debut album with Three Panels and Lady be Mine. Any other Mac fans out there???

I love "One Hell of a Woman." I also like "It's Hard To Be Humble." I know how he feels!

I donno if he's a hero. But it's hard not to like a guy who can sing:

I wish they'd take Ida Amin and Khomeni,
Khadafi and all of the rest,
Tie 'em all in a chair and make 'em stare at Yassar Arafat,
'Till he uglied the whole bunch to death!

At least it was him that did that, as best I recall.

Peter.

And that isn't heroic??!!

See what I mean? The man should be put on a coin.

Love the songs!

It would be interesting to find out what he's been up to.

I'll have to check with Johnny Ashe. He no doubt has every Mac Davis LP ever pressed. Will get back later on this.

George, your friend John Ashe sounds like a cool guy. Can ye get him over to Mudcat? We need more all-music defenders.

Isn't he responsible for "In the Ghetto"? Elvis gets relevant! (Good song though: rivets kids.)

It's nice to know others appreciate him as well. I got his first album when I spotted him one night on some TV variety show and absolutely loved his voice and lyrics. Being a songwriter myself, I found him quite a role model.
