I'm trying to find a song that my school choir performed waaaaay back in 1965. All I remember is that the words were discriptive of the instruments. The first verse was "The clarinet, the clarinet, says do-wah-do-wah-do-wah-det" The second was "The fiddles they sob it and sigh it and sing it" (or close) The song went through the whole orchestra and it ended up a round of all the verses. Clever but simple. Any chance anyone knows what I'm talking about?

Phil, I'll bet my sister does. I will make sure she sees this thread. Plus, there are a bunch of other Mudcatters whom I am betting will know it, too.

Welcome to the Mudcat!

Wow ... I'm impressed. That's the one. Not the lyrics I remember, but close. Such covenance, my missus will be teaching this to her Grade 3 kids if I can track down enough of it.

On the "Dick VanDyke Show", Rob, Laura, et al did it. Very clever and fun.
