Can't find this one in the usual places. It's very Scottish, in the key of A.

Any ideas, comrades?

Is this the same as Donal Don? My database says in that case the original title of the tune is O theid mi fhein, or Rob Roy's March. The song can be found in Robert Ford's 'Vagabond Songs and Ballads of Scotland' 1899-1900, though whether Ford has got tunes I don't know. - Susanne

Suzanne, many thanks for the thought, and Pene for the lifebelt. Not only am I champion thread killer, I kill my own the quickest!

A funny thing happened at the Wootton First Sunday session, last night. Max the demon fiddler was blasting through a storming set of rigs and jeels, and my little chest puffed out as I knew each one that came up. The final tune was none other than Donald Dunn.

"Max", (Not that Max!) I cried "Donald Dunn?"

"No", replied he, "Roxburgh Castle"

So I had the tadpoles all along. I blame a band called the Glenshee Sound for labelling their CD wrongly. Sorry to have stirred up your grey matter, comrades.

Couldn't they be the same tune? Many tunes are used for different songs and are known under diferent names. - Just a thought, I don't know anything about tunes ...
