Help: David A.

Has anyone heard of a singer/songwriter named David A.? I heard him many many years ago in Louisiana. He was great! I think he came from Mississippi. His last name was Bleecher or something like that, but he went by David A. I would love to find some of his recordings. One song I recall him doing was "Spellbinding Woman". Any help?

Did he play acoustic and sometimes a harmonica? He sounds familiar to me but I cannot quite place him. My mind keeps saying "yeah", but he hasn't yet come up on my screen. Maybe I'll think of him. R-R

I'm not certain but didn't David A play guitar on a Jim Kweskin album? If it is who I'm thinking of, He's dead.

There was a David A Belcher in Greenwood, MS in the early eighties. He played acoustic guitar, harmonica and wrote his own songs. Definitely not the style you would expect in G'wood at that time. David A's songs were hard to classify, but they were Very Good, too good for him to remain in anonimity. However, I do not know where he is or what has become of him. If anyone knows anything about him since those days, I would like to know about it. I'll keep up with any new post that I see concerning this man. He was good, well worth a listen. Lambchop

I'm not sure but isn't he the one that played with one of those punk rock groups that toured all over the world.If he is the one I wouldn't care to much for his music.I'm not too fond of punk rock.My speciality is country...........cocoa 1

I heard of him his from Carroll,County MS. He is a cool dude.Good luck on tracking him down I haven't heard from him in years. Thats if we are talking about the same dude.

There was a Disco Dude called David A. in the fall of the "Disco Era". I think he helped it fall. Maybe it's your guy. He doesn't fit the musical descript you gave but who knows?
