There was an earlier thread on things that were lost forever and forever missed. I would like to hear about things that would have been better off missing forever.

My vote goes to a little psycho by the name of Vladimir Lenin. During WWI the Germans had the bastard locked up, but released him and put him on a train to Russia in an attempt to incite internal rebellion in Russia. Worked pretty well, too.

Sinsull - I don't believe I said it wasn't sexist - but I find football - most sports involving sphereoids, in fact - and that kind of talk just about equally boring, so it actually wasn't.

Disappearing to the library is good, if the house has the library in a separate room. Playing with the pets is good, unless the pets present are dogs that drool, and you're a cat person ("Cats Rule! Dogs Drool!")

I heard on NPR today that the daughter (or grand-daughter) of Emily Post is starting a campaign to improve our manners with regards to the cell phone. The story was told of a minister who was delivering a funeral message when a cell phone went off in the congregation. The person with the phone answered it & began a conversation right there in Church! This continued until the minister stopped speaking until he had the attention of the telephone conversationalist. If that ever happens while I am giving a funeral message, may I have the courage to do the same.
