Hi!

A friend asked me whether I had ever heard a song containing the following verse (or part of a verse)...

Oh can anybody kindly tell me have they seen poor Billy Flynn,
It is no joke his nose is broke, and one eye in a sling,
He hops about on a wooden leg, the thought of it makes me cry,
He makes a little round hole in the mud as he goes, and thats how we tell him by.

A sixth sense tells me... English music hall.

Does anyone know it? Have the words? Know the background? Your comments are appreciated.

Does anyone have the tune for this verse? We got the words from someone who said that his grandfather learnt it in the navy, but it was some years ago, and we can't remember the tune.

Found this on another site. But that person has had no luck in his search either.

Oh, was with a google of

in the quotation marks.

In there is the following:

I'm guessing that that's all there is, but that's a guess.
