Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Mark Cohen Date: 15 Sep 00 - 01:22 AM Mousethief, you're Bokless no more! Gordon will be at the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle on Sunday 11/12. Check the Timberhead link for more details. (See, sometimes it helps to follow the links in these here threads!) Here are the rest of Gordon's NW dates: Thu 11/9 Toledo, OR Fri 11/10 Astoria, OR Sun 11/12 Seattle, WA Fri 11/17 Victoria, BC Sat 11/18 Pender Island, BC I know Gordon has been to the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop (I was there when he was there in 1989), and he may have been there since, and perhaps will be again. (For those who don't know about PSGW, that's another wonderful story...) So, Mousethief, go to the site, get on their mailing list, and you will be Boklessnessless henceforth. Aloha (and a special hello to my old Seattle buddies) Mark |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Sandy Paton Date: 14 Sep 00 - 10:11 PM Bok'll sure be out to Seattle again, both to sing and to attend the guitar workshops, so you won't remain Bokless out yonder for long. Ed often performs with Cathy barton and Dave Para. His new home in Illinois will probably make this happen even more often than it does now. He is also scheduling solo performances within spitting distance of the great hog butcher of the world, and farther afield. I'll watch for Annie to drop in on some of Hot Soup's gigs, too, to share a song or two with her daughter, Christina, and the others in that trio. All is not lost, friends. As for a farewell CD, it's likely, but it will be on Timberhead, and marketed by Folk-Legacy, as we now offer all the other Timberhead releases. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: mousethief Date: 14 Sep 00 - 01:27 PM Yeah, sure wish their farewell tour could've come further west.
Bokless in Seattle, O..O |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Big Mick Date: 14 Sep 00 - 08:59 AM I saw them when they came to E. Lansing, and I would suggest that you get to one of their farewell concerts, if possible. The bright side is that there will continue to be music from them in new ventures. Mick |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Tiger Date: 14 Sep 00 - 08:50 AM I've been wanting to see these guys for a long, long time. Now I guess I'd better do it quickly. |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: pastorpest Date: 14 Sep 00 - 08:10 AM Snady, thanks for explaining. Now will there be a farewell CD? |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Peter Kasin Date: 14 Sep 00 - 03:56 AM Ann was at Valley Of The Moon Scottish Fiddling School in California a week and a half ago, and looked to be in good health and spirits. I'm sorry about her husband being ill. That's probably why she had to go right back to France at the end of camp. |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Melani Date: 13 Sep 00 - 10:47 PM Well, phooey. I wish they would stop by California on their way. At least we have their recordings, so that wonderful sound isn't gone forever. |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Sandy Paton Date: 13 Sep 00 - 09:59 PM Annie now lives in southern France; Ed has just moved from Maryland to Chicago (teaching at U of Illinois/Chicago), and Gordon is still in Maine, but doing more programs with his wife, Carol Rohl and with the January Men. Getting together to rehearse and to perform has been increasingly difficult these past several years. The guys still have their hair, or most of it. Annie's husband, Claude Graf, has had some serious health problems, but is doing okay. It's just that the time had come. So be it. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Midchuck Date: 13 Sep 00 - 09:45 PM You have to keep in mind that 2 male/1 female trios are one of the most stressful types of singing groups - look at PP&M - 2 out of three have lost all their hair... Peter. (if you haven't realized that the above was an attempt at humor, come to a Woodchuck gig.) |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Naemanson Date: 13 Sep 00 - 08:58 PM I believe the logistics of getting together have overun the fun of singing together so they are letting it go. I think I've also heard rumors of ill health on Ann's part but I emphasize it is just rumor. |
Subject: RE: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: GUEST,Allan S. Date: 13 Sep 00 - 08:53 PM what is the story??? Have they quit singing together ??? Boc quit singing???? What is going on???? |
Subject: Bok, Muir & Trickett Farewell Tour From: Mark Cohen Date: 13 Sep 00 - 07:50 PM This just in from Timberhead Music. That's Gordon Bok, Ann Mayo Muir, and Ed Trickett. I'm very sad to see the word "Farewell" in the announcement, but all good things... For details, you should contact Timberhead Music, as I believe Gordon's entire Fall concert schedule is posted on the site. Fri 9/22 Harrisburg, PA Sat 9/23 Bethesda, MD (DC area) Sun 9/24 Philadelphia, PA Thu 9/28 Albany, NY Fri 9/29 Hartford, CT Sat 9/30 Bedford, MA Sun 10/1 Rockport, ME Fri 10/6 Bath, ME Sat 10/7 Peterboro, NH I expect to be at the Bedford concert (hooray!), and I'll be wearing my Mudcat T-shirt, hoping to meet other 'Catters. Aloha, Mark |
