Subject: Lyr Add: I CAN ALMOST SEE IRELAND FROM HERE From: Jim Dixon Date: 28 Dec 11 - 11:16 PM Here's how I hear it: I CAN ALMOST SEE IRELAND FROM HERE As sung by Frank Patterson on "I Can Almost See Ireland from Here" (2011) 1. These hills are not my hills but they always remind me Of faces and places I left long ago. My hills are much bluer, as blue as my tears. I can almost see Ireland from here. 2. Kentucky's a bluebird, puts wings on my mind, And the rivers and valleys look so much like home, But though she sings sweetly, it's sad to my ears. I can almost see Ireland from here. 3. It's hard to find sunshine as bright as my daydreams. It's beautiful here, but there's no place like home. On hushed wings of dreaming, through soft mist of springtime, I can almost see Ireland from here. 4. The view from the mountain, the cry of the eagle, Brings a song to my heart, but it dies on my tongue; And on mornings like this, when the memories are clear, I can almost see Ireland from here. REPEAT VERSE 3 REPEAT LAST 2 LINES OF VERSE 4. |
