Yea, I'm looking this too. Don't know who wrote it or what it's called, and I don't know why or how I can rember goofy stuff like this, but I can still sing it in my head, well most of it anyway. I don't even drink coffee. Picture it, Allentown (Pa.) 1977 (or so). I'm 11yrs. old, home from school, sick probably, and I'm listening to an AM radio station in the morning, when I hear what sounds like a witch start laughing or cackling like they do. There's sounds in the background to suggest she's stirring a bubbling cauldron while she continues to laugh, then an explosion silences everything. (on the radio that is) Not sure exactly how the song starts up, but the refrain goes:
OH! I'm a freak, I'm a freak, I'm a coffee freak, and coffee freaks agree, if the ocean turns to coffee, bury us at sea, well make it strong and make it hot, forget the cup, just bring the pot, 'cause man that stuff it hits the spot, it's the pick-me-up I need.
first verse:
I go driving off to work with a cup of hot joe in my hand, OW! spill some on my shirt and almost hit a van! Driving and drinking can be risky I might not arrive alive, but if I can't have my coffee, son, who wants to survive?

second verse:
I've got an autographed poster of Mrs. Olson on the wall, (ouh-ouh) and another one of Robert Young hanging in the hall, (ooouuuuh), and when I DO go to sleep I dream about caffine (ouh-waah) , and I never leave the house without my lucky coffee bean. (percolator sounds in the background) Well I guzzle that stuff all morning, and I guzzle all afternoon, and on my way home from work man I gotta stop for a cup or two, and then I have a few cups with dinner, and then a few after dinner cups, then a cup again with the news at ten, and I just can't shut-up. (deep low voice says 'soitenly' like 3 Stooges Curley did)
(refrain, only more hyper at the end and a dopey sounding person saying 'yup-yup-yup' after 'it's the pick-me-up I need.
(There may be another verse here, but I don't think so. Hey, come on, 1977 was a long time ago. I'm not sure how the final part starts, or of all the words, but it is spoken instead of sung.) He eventually says:
gonna go out and look at the stars, it's such a pretty night. WOW! look at those babies shine! Hey, that's the Big Dipper up there! Well what do you know, it looks just like a big 'ole cup of coffee! Coffee!?! Mmmmm, that sounds good. Well what do you know, the paint's peeling off my house. I know what I'll do, I'll go inside and brew me up a big 'ole pot of coffee and come out here and paint this sucker! Yea! I can be done in time to get the kids off to school. Then I can stop off at the donut shop and get a cup of coffee before I go to work in the morning! (the song drifts off from here while he continues to talk about coffee)
Been rembering all these songs and cartoons from my childhood in the '60's and '70's during the day, then I gotta try to find them. Stuff like the preamble to the constitution from School House Rock, Fred 'Tex' Avery, the king of screwball cartoons and Lenny Bruce's 'Thank You Mask Man'. Someone find this stupid percolator song and put it on youtube, you all got wondering about the possible missing verse now.
