Subject: RE: what's your favorite ice cream flavor? From: hesperis Date: 24 Sep 00 - 01:56 PM Triple decker of: Hawberry Chocolate/Chocolate chip Butterscotch and the sweetened cone. Hawberry Ice Cream is a regional specialty of Manitoulin Island in Canada. If you can get it anywhere else, let me know!!! Butterscotch is my all-time favorite. If I'm only having a single cone, I sometimes get Vanilla. As I found out that I'm extremely allergic to all dairy products, and I no longer eat Ice Cream, the list above is just from beautiful memories... Vanilla Rice Dream is really good with canned peaches added. And the Homemade Soy Ice Cream with bright red currants that I made one time was very good. |

Subject: RE: BS: what's your favorite ice cream flavor? From: Rich(bodhránai gan ciall) Date: 24 Sep 00 - 04:58 PM I've had Rice Dream and Tofutti both. They're both tasty, but pricy. I've given up any attempt on being a vegan (I play a goatskin, for starters), and so while I'll eat vegan food while It's there I don't particularly go out of my way for it. Would like to try the homemade recipe. PM on the way. Rich |

Subject: RE: BS: what's your favorite ice cream flavor? From: tradsteve Date: 25 Sep 00 - 01:35 AM Well... being somewhat of a pro (I worked in the iced-cream business for two years) I'd have to say my favourite is Daiquiri Ice. It isn't really iced-cream, but it's my favourite. Fat-Free as well! |

Subject: RE: BS: what's your favorite ice cream flavor? From: GUEST,Mark Cohen, visiting Mass. Date: 26 Sep 00 - 12:37 AM Hey, Peg, I still have my Herrell's T-shirt I got at Steve's original place in Northampton in 1985! Chocolate Pudding was the one for me. Now I have to make do with imported Breyer's (not like it was in Philly when I was growing up, but still has the little flecks of vanilla bean) and occasionally B&J, but I've also grown quite fond of the local brands, such as ginger or green tea from Hilo Homemade. And to make this a musical thread, I hope to see Peg and Bud and others at the Bok/Muir/Trickett concert in Bedford this Saturday -- I'll be wearing my Mudcat T-shirt! Aloha, Mark. |

Subject: RE: BS: what's your favorite ice cream flavor? From: Patrish(inactive) Date: 27 Sep 00 - 10:32 AM Bugsy, I remember El Dorado Ice cream vans. Square cones and little bricks, Broughty Ferry near Dundee Scotland 1959. Big Van in a small cul-de-sac - used to cause an uproar of kids begging their parents for icecream. There was no Mr Whippy in those days (I sound like my grandmother) Patrish |
