Subject: windy bottom From: Dorrie Date: 25 Sep 00 - 02:18 PM did anyone go to windy this weekend? it was great whats everyones opinion of making new fests like this? i think there should be more! |
Subject: RE: windy bottom From: bill\sables Date: 25 Sep 00 - 05:05 PM Hi Dorrie, there were quite a few catters there this weekend. Sam Pirt, Graham Pirt, Ian Stephenson, Mouldy, Selby, Badger, Tig, Eric the Viking, Eric Symonds, Vell, Mrs. Duck, Geoff the Duck with the ducklings Mike Cahill, and me and probably more if I thought about it. I agree it was, as usual, a great festival. As to the idea of there being more of them, no, I dont think it is a good idea, It would take away the unequeness of Windy Bottom. Cheers Bill |

Subject: RE: windy bottom From: Tig Date: 26 Sep 00 - 12:15 PM Windy Bottom was a giant house party - thanks a lot Chris and Geraldine. It was also Andy's 21st birthday party and great fun. I'm all for such events but not many of us have enough space to put up marquees and invite our friends round for a full blown folk festival, hence the rarety value. I think the fact that most of us knew each other made it very special, that's something you don't get at ordinary festivals. |
Subject: RE: windy bottom From: Mrs.Duck Date: 26 Sep 00 - 03:21 PM Let's not forget as well those who were there that it is a private party even if it was bigger than most. We are very lucky to include so many great musicians and lovers of music among our friends but it is the fact that they are friends that makes it all so good. By the way flatulence was also very prominant after a few pints of Windy Bottom and a couple of fajitas!!! |
Subject: RE: windy bottom From: GUEST,Sam Pirt Date: 26 Sep 00 - 04:51 PM Yes it was a great festival. There is always a really close feeling like no other festival I know of. It was great, played lots, drank lots & eat lots fantastic. Cheers, Sam |

Subject: RE: windy bottom From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 09 Sep 01 - 12:26 PM I have just got back from windy bottom, and I would like to say a really BIG THANK YOU to Chris, Geraldine, and Ian Stephenson, and everyone else involved for all their hard work organising the festival. It was absolutley brilliant, I only intended to pop in for a couple of hours (I was supposed to be at work on Saturday) but I enjoyed it so much I stayed the whole weekend! I don't often use big words because my spelling aint too good, but I think the music and dancing was absoluteley brilliant.thanks.john |
Subject: RE: windy bottom From: mouldy Date: 10 Sep 01 - 02:56 AM The exhilarating thing for me about Windy Bottom is the sound. Nothing intrudes upon anything else, but wherever you go, be it in the concert or just onto the camping field, there is music and singing. Given that it is held on a back garden (albeit a very big back garden) this never ceases to amaze me. And there is still room for the kids to have parachute games! And it certainly lived up to its name on Friday, didn't it folks!? Andrea |
Subject: RE: windy bottom From: Cobble Date: 10 Sep 01 - 01:22 PM .... and even bigger kids to fly a kite !!! Wonderful .. thanks Geraldine and Chris and all your helper gnomes. Brian and Margaret |
