Cindy, can you give us a hint as to the words? It's not the Skye Boat Song, is it, beginning "Speed, bonny boat, like a bird on the wing?" If it's that one, you should be able to find it if you click above on the "Lyrics search"

No, I don't think it's the Boat Song, but I am asking for someone else. I'll see if I can find out for sure, and maybe get a lyric snippet.

No lyrics yet, but the recording the song is on is an old one by Calum Kennedy. Some words may be Gaelic. I'll hopefully have more info later.

It isn't the "Skye Boat Song", and the only reference I can find at the moment is to a recording by Kenneth McKellar, if that's any use:  Kenneth McKellar: The Decca Years 1955 & 1975

One source says the author is "Trad/Kennedy-Fraser". Another source gives the title as "Skye Fisher's Song (Tir-Nan-Og)". It's included in The Celtic Fake-Book published by the Hal Leonard Corp.

I've made a MIDI of the tune, and I'm sending it in for posting. I'm going to change it from F to G to make it easier for folk instruments.

The MIDI will cover two verses and the coda. The words to the coda are "By the glimmer of thine eyes, I know, I know."

The song has an amazing range - from the G in the bass clef to the high D in the treble.
