I have to go for his version of Cole Porter's "Begin the Beguine"

"When they begin the beguine
It brings back the sound of music so tender,
It brings back a night of tropical splendor,
It brings back a memory ever green.

Fantastic!!!

Yes, DougR- I think it was the guy who played opposite Eva Gabor on Green Acres, wasn't it? Just kidding. ":~(

And if you think that's bad, take a look at my Minuet in G thread- and more's the pity, I'm serious!

He's the guy who sang a duet with Johnny Carson (who looked like Willie Nelson) on the Tonight Show.

Brit comic Russ Abbott (formerly of the comedy band Black Abbots) used to do a wicked take-off called "Julio Doubleglazias".
Just thought you'd like to know....

Ah, yes. Julio, the great romantic. I had no interest in him until I had a girlfriend who liked him, and then I got to hear a whole bunch of his songs and see some videos too. The videos really did it for me...I like Julio! He's got a whole lot of style. He's a good friend of Willie Nelson too, and that rates high in my book.

I remember hilarious scenes in Bloom County of Steve Dallas singing Julio Iglesias songs in the shower. Bloom Country was a riot. And Steve Dallas had to be the ultimate sleazy lawyer of all time.

I liked the Bill & Opus campaign slogan too..."This Time Why Not the Worst?"

Well, Little Hawk, at last! We have found something we TOTALLY agree upon! Bloom County was the best. I miss it very much and keep hoping Berk Brethed will run out of money and start drawing the comic strip again.
