Looking for Tn. mountain song about two little children sitting on church steps. Their mother had died and gone to heaven and they were found frozen to death in the morning. Thanks for any help.

My aunt used to sing this song to us all the time. I have read the lyrics as posted, and this seems to be a condenced version. Does anyone have the original lyrics or know the origin of the song?
