Can some kind soul put me out of my misery and tell me what song these lines come from?

Sunny Goodge Street; believe Donovan wrote it, Judy Collins sang it. Margaret

The only other line I remember is " A violent hash eater shook a chocolate machine." Being around fifteen years old and in New England I remember being puzzled as to whether the chocolate machine was made out of chocolate or dispensed them. I sorta knew the term "hash eater" wasn't about breakfast, though .Goodge Street??

Sunny Goudge Street by Donovan. About the Goudge Street underground station in London. Why it should be sunny, now that's another question.

Yeah; I remember my startled sense of deja vu when I finally went to London and found myself in the Goodge Street tube station getting a Cadbury bar from out of the little vending machine. When I learned the song I certainly had no idea Goodge Street was a real place, or that there might be a chocolate machine underground; it just seemed like an interesting surreal fantasy of a song. Margaret
