Subject: Lyr Req: Boy Scout Hymn From: Haruo Date: 18 Oct 00 - 06:02 PM In the "Red Flag of Labour" thread, à propos of the tune "O Tannenbaum", I mentioned the boy scout hymn sung to it, the one I learned as a kid that ends "have I done and have I dared / everything to be prepared"; then I went looking for it in the Digitrad 'cause I'm drawing a blank on the incipit, and lo and behold it's not there. There's the Tom Lehrer one ("don't solicit for your sister, it's not nice / unless you get a good percentage of her price" et sim.) and another parody, but not the squeaky clean and squeakily honourable original. How does it start? Liland |
