Hammarite now has the Llanstock cold!! She lost her voice yesterday (some peace & quiet for me then). Luckily she was in full voice on Saturday as our local singaround was in the same bar as a rowdy crowd of rugby players & supporters. We took it as a challenge..... All ended nicely with the rugby-ers contributing songs & (mostly) not interrupting others. Hamm was muttering darkly about it all ending a bit soon because of those flaming rugby players, and as a protest she removed the rugby shirt she was wearing. Actually it ended at the normal time, it just seemed short to her. Still, the bright side is that, because some people wimped out & left, we got loads of turns to sing - which pleased Hamm no end.....

Hope the infection is on the way out. I am opening a firework shop tomorrow and will be painting all the walls bright orange - fancy giving me a hand? I have to carve pumpkins and make some guys and generally tart the place up. Not to worry if you cant make it I will save some good stuff for Llanstock II. Are you on half term just now?

Amoret, I think your name is one of the loveliest I've heard in ages. It reminds me of my favourite liqueur - Amaretto - and Christmas and log fires and stuff. Either that or medieval courts and jousts an lute music.

Much nicer than stuff you paint on metal railings to keep 'em from rusting!

It's a different sort of drinking!!! It's the "drink as much as you can in the shortest possible time, then throw up all over the house" I had to deal with when the kids were teenagers! Adult drinkers are a doddle compared to that!!!!
I think they call it a learning curve!!!!

Greetings from rainy grey Manchester! I agree with everything that's been said on this thread. Keep up the singing. My eldest daughter is 20 and is at Glamorgan Uni doing a degree in performing arts and media studies. It sounds wonderful, she's done producing plays, acting, singing, photography, storytelling (from the oral tradition) and all sorts. It sounds so much fun (I wish I'd thought of it for myself!).

You've got a lot to look forward to.

Amoret, just keep going the way you are and you'll do well, and of course as a mudcatter, you'll have loads of support. I'll buy your first CD when it comes out. Both my rats aged 12 (Matt) and freja (Odin's daughter aged 8) are into singing, dancing and performing arts. They enjoy it all.Especially big audiences.You'll need to practice microphone technique for next year though as we'll be expecting a full set. Plus a duette with Phoebe.

So it's a definate for next year then is it? I'd better teach Phoebe a bit of stage ettiquette then, she'll never learn it from her dad!!

And if that wasn't enough, we did the final one of our two recordings of Songs of Praise on Thurs, and there was a bodhrain AND a piano accordion there. Grrrr... whatever happened to the brass band we had the previous night.....

Amoret, I fled to Llanfiar to get away from my ankle biters, who are 12, 10 and 7 (Sam, Jack & Ellie) and found you in the same barrack block! What a shock. An even bigger shock was that you behaved better than the rest of us put together!

I think it's great that you've started singing already, David (Dalek) didn't really get into it till he was 15, and I was 16 when I got my first guitar and learned the 3 chords I use now!!!!!

Hello every one I've finaly loged on ! The reason behind the name is because thats how bill .S remembers Amoret . There is a singaround tonight we are singing ROLLING HOME to see if we can get them singing like at Llanstock.

We should of got a picture of my dad mid shimmy! Sorry for taking your bed Patrish as it was very very VERY cosy due to marks central heating !
