Subject: A second Crosskeys CD From: John Moulden Date: 23 Oct 00 - 07:28 AM Members will remember that the Crosskeys Inn, in County Antrim, was destroyed by fire earlier this year. A CD of music and song produced in aid of the rebuilding has already been advertised in this forum; a second has now been produced. Entitled "Tales Across the Ocean" it comprises stories told by some of the most accomplished tellers of tales from Ireland, north and south, and from North America. Further details may be obtained from me (John@ulstersongs.com) |
Subject: RE: A second Crosskeys CD From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 23 Oct 00 - 05:05 PM John, I'll ask here instead of via email, just to refresh the thread. Could the storyteller be John Campbell himself again, and than whom there is none finer? Many thanks for sorting me out with a second copy of the first CD, by the way. Is it still available? If so,it's well worth the investment, for anyone seriously into Irish traditional, pure and simple, in the best sense of the phrase. Quite apart from being in such a splendid cause. |
Subject: RE: A second Crosskeys CD From: John Moulden Date: 24 Oct 00 - 09:32 AM John tells only one story and it's repeated from the first Crosskeys cd, as is Len Graham's performance of Pretty Susan. The other eleven tracks were recorded specially (5 items), or at the National Storytelling Festival (2) or were donated by the performers from previously issued albums (4) - how's my arithmetic? |
